At least once in our lives we stumbled upon a moment when we say "wow I'm really glad I did that!" or just simply a contended, smiling and happy face once we took the first bite.
This however, is not one of them.
Tried this dessert at Mamou and unfortunately I cannot seem to figure out what it is trying to be. It's called Crispy Milk. It was served fried with warm, soft and milky taste on the inside, AND a cup of sugar on the side. Yes, raw plain white sugar. And that got me thinking, when they prepared the food, is someone not sure about how / what the taste is gonna be like? Hmm...
Anyways, it was one of the more pricey desserts on the menu and was expecting something special. Something that would make me smile, something that would make me say to myself, "yes dear we will see each other again". Well it was crispy alright, and I can't say it tastes bad either...was I expecting too much? I think not. For its price, I think it's way overrated.
I'd be a much happier person if I bought a "turon na may lanka" (banana fritter with jackfruit) from a "jollijeep" along the streets of Makati.
